Body Four Newman Grove churches -- Immanuel Zion Lutheran, Newman Grove Methodist, Shell Creek Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran celebrated the 150th anniversaries of their founding last Sunday, April 14, with a meal and special program.

Body Ordinances confirming the sale of two lots in the new Fowlkes Second Addition to Newman Grove were confirmed by ordinances adopted at the Newman Grove City Council meeting Thursday night, April 11. One lot, Lot 5 Block B, was sold to James and Janell Wyant.

Body A basement has been completed for the first home in the Fowlkes Second Addition to Newman Grove. The new home of Jim and Janell Wyant will be installed on this structure soon. Two lots have now been sold.

Body Newman Grove FFA members will be involved in many contests and activities at the Nebraska State FFA Convention this week, April 3-5, in Lincoln. State FFA Degree recipients from Newman Grove will be Trent Patzel, Austin Wiese, Cora Patzel and Christyan Anderson.

Body Newman Grove Public School had three state qualifiers and one alternate advancing from the Nebraska Junior Academy of Science’s (NJAS) Northeast Regional Science Fair held March 22 at Wayne State College.

Body A drama that features the World War II experience of a young man from Nebraska will be staged on Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. at the Boone Central Performing Arts Gym in Albion.

Body Betty King had many of her family members present for her retirement celebration last Saturday, March 9, after more than 14 years as executive director of the Newman Grove Housing Authority.

Body Newman Grove Red Cross blood drive was held on Monday, March 4, at Fellowship Bible Church. There were 48 donors for this drive, and 50 units of blood were collected.
