Betty King had many of her family members present for her retirement celebration last Saturday, March 9, after more than 14 years as executive director of the Newman Grove Housing Authority. Game night at St Paul Lutheran Church, rural Tilden , will be held Friday, March 8, starting at 5:30 p.m. This event of games, fun, and fellowship was rescheduled from January due to the snow storms.

Nebraskans who would like to vote early for the May 14, 2024, statewide primary election can now submit early voting applications to their county election office. Voters can either download the early voting applications from the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website, or they can request an application from their county election office.

July 17, 1929 — December 29, 2023 Gloria Lou Johnson, 94, of Spring Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her three daughters, granddaughter, Alyssa, and grand-hound, Flunter. Gloria was bom in Newman Grove, baptized, confirmed and married at Shell Creek Lutheran Church.
