Newman Grove American Legion Post 73 will be hosting their seventh annual “Pullin’ for Patriots’ event on Sunday, Sept. 8, at football field in Newman Grove.
The annual “Ride to Remember” sponsored by South Side Lounge and Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club, Shell Creek Station 102, is coming up Saturday, Aug. 24, at Newman Grove.
Reminder from the Newman Grove Tree Board: Citizens of Newman Grove have until September 30th to enter the tree grant drawing. Four $100.00 grants will be given.
Eight new benches were installed in the Newman Grove park areas with the Newman Grove Community Foundation helping with costs of $5,000. The benches have cutouts for local historical dates, and on the back have information about the community as well.

Nebraska Farmer announced last week that Newman Grove area native Addy Donelson was the 2024 scholarship recipient. Donelson, a sophomore at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is an agriculture and environmental sciences communication major, with minors in Engler entrepreneurship and public policy.
Newman Grove’s Postmaster, Michael Kroeger, closed his window for the last official time as the town’s postmaster last week on July 12, retiring after a 30-plus year career with the United States Postal Service. A social media post noted that Kroeger had served the community as postmaster for the last 17 years.
