Life leads people to many unexpected changes, but for Albion High School Alumni, Joseph Krings, a change of career paths lead to a future of spectacular opportunities.

Krings, a 1994 graduate, knows his way around the movie industry. Throughout his career he has worked on countless remarkable films, series, shows, and short stories. Most recently, on May 31st, “The Great Lilian Hall,” a movie he edited, was released to the MAX streaming platform.

The Great Lilian Hall features many well-known actors including: Jessica Lange in the titular role of Lilian Hall, as well as Pierce Brosnan, Jesse Williams, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, and more. The story follows the famous actress, Lillian Hall, as she struggles to cope with her recent diagnosis of early Dementia.

Throughout the film, viewers see how her diagnosis affects her current relations and impacts her life and career as she knows it. As the story unfolds, the audience is left wondering if her past abilities will be enough to push through her condition to be prepared for opening night of her newest show.

The film scored an 87% from Rotten Tomatoes and a 75% from IMDb.

Krings said he had multiple favorite stories from working on The Great Lilian Hall. He mentions that he found all of the performances extremely pleasurable, especially Jessica Lange’s.

He had never worked with Lange before, but he relays that her high level performances in all of her scenes added so much joy to the entire process. He mentioned that while he did not know Lily Rabe’s work well he soon found her to be super impressive. Krings said that Pierce Brosnan was also extremely impressive.

Krings got onto the film by recommendation from a different producer he had previously worked with when editing “Rebel in the Rye.”

The producer, Bruce Cohen, thought Krings editing style and personality would be a good fit for The Great Lilian Hall. Krings was sent a copy of the script, liked it, checked his schedule, and when that all worked out talked on Zoom with the director of The Great Lilian Hall, Micheal Christopher. Krings said that they had a “nice talk,” and that they were both compatible enough that Christopher decided to hire him.
