Nebraska cowboys among top riders at Roughstock Rodeo
Nebraska cowboys topped the bull riding event at the Boone County Fair Roughstock Rodeo on July 8, while South Dakota cowboys claimed first place in both the bareback and saddle bronc riding.
More than 30 contestants were featured at this event, with several hundred fans watching from the bleachers at the outdoor arena.
Koby Jacobson of McCook won first place in bull riding with 82.5 points, while Kahlwa Augustiro of McCook placed second with 81 points. Both attend Mid-Plains Community College at McCook.
Others placing in the top four were Jason Krusave of Arcadia and Sutton Schrunk of Valentine.
Taos Weborg of Gregory, SD, was the top bareback bronc rider with a score of 82. Koltdyn Heath of Minden, NE, was second with 79 points, followed by Cinch Kiger, Overton, with 83 and Tanner Drueke, Sutherland, with 68.
Saddle bronc riding had the largest field of 13 contestants. The top four placings were Jackson Ford, Sturgis, SD, first with 78 points; Cooper West, Phillip, SD, with 74; Miles Kreeger, third with 73; and Chris Nelson, Lake Andes, SD, and Dylan Suhr, Canton, SD, tied for fourth with 71 points each.
