From the Boone County Sheriff’s Office

On July 15, 2024 at approximately 5:04 p.m., the Boone County 911 Center received a call of a motorcyle accident that occured near mile marker 23 on Highway 52, just north of Primrose.

Emergency crews were detailed to the accident scene, along with deputies.

A grey 2021 Harley Davidson motorcyle was travling southbound on Highway 52 when it appears that the motorcycle ran off the highway at the curve and landed in the west ditch. The driver appeared to have been thrown from the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, 60-year-old Todd Hellbusch of Fulerton, was transported to the Boone County Hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased after being transported and treated.

Boone County Sheriff, Albion Police, Primrose Fire and Cedar Rapids Rescue were part of the call.
