No new county filings before March 1 deadline
With no new filings for local or Boone County offices since Feb. 22, there will likely be no contested races for these offices in the May 14 primary election.
Filings for county and local offices this season have included:
• County Commissioner - District 2: Jon Lindgren, Republican incumbent, is the only filing for the available four-year term.
• Boone Central School Board three four-year terms available and three incumbent filings: Andrew Roberts, Ed Knott and Justin D. Frey.
• Riverside Schools Board - five four-year terms available and five incumbent filings: Karen Penne, Daniel J. Ray, James R. Molt, Terry G. Glesinger and Brian Swerczek.
• St. Edward School Board three four-year terms available and three incumbent filings: David Merrell, Dan Reardon and David Roberts.
• Albion City Council - two four-year terms available and two incumbent filings: Marcus Johnson and Jack Dailey.
• Albion Airport Authority - one six-year term available and one incumbent filing: Richard L. Schack.
• St. Edward City Council - two four-year terms available. Three candidates have filed, including incumbents Dennis D. Schack and Eric Smith, and new filer Cindy Miller.
• Cedar Rapids Village Board three four-year terms available and one filing: Jordan Mogensen.
Village board seats will be on the general election ballot only. Deadlines for filing are July 15 for incumbents and August 1 for new filers.
Primrose Village Board and Petersburg Village Board will each have two four-year terms up for election in the November 2024 general election.
District 41 Legislature
Three candidates are seeking election to the District 41 seat in the Nebraska Legislature, which includes Boone, Greeley and Wheeler counties.
The District 41 candidates for the primary election are Ethan Clark of Ord, Nadine D. Bane of Scotia and Daniel D. McKeon of Amherst.
