Albion Juniors split games so far in season

The Albion Cornerstone Junior Legion for Post #162 is already six games into the 2026 season, getting an even record after their last game at David City on Sunday.

The team picked up three wins and three losses – starting out with a game against the Rebels at home, winning 7-6; they traveled to David City on May 28, falling 9-11, which would be avenged in great fashion later.

The team traveled to Plainview on June 2, and took out the Plainview Junior Legion team, 3-2; and they played Twin River and Centura on Saturday, June 6, stumbling a bit at the tournament, falling 7-12 to Twin River and 6-16 to Centura.

On Sunday, June 7, the team rebounded against David City, avenging their previous loss, with a win in grand fashion, 19-10.

The team was scheduled to play Tri-County’s Titans on June 9, the Rebels on the road on June 11, David City again on Friday, June 12, and O’Neill Irish at home on Monday the 15th.

Against David City

Carter Lueken drove in four runs on three hits to lead Albion Cornerstone Legion Post #162 Junior past David City Post 125 Juniors 19-10 on Sunday at David City.

Lueken singled in the third scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and singled in the second scoring one.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Albion Juniors collected 17 hits and David City hit seven in the high-scoring affair.

The Albion boys jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Kaden Miller singled, scoring one run, Carter Lueken doubled, scoring one run, Jacob Wiese grounded out, scoring one run, and Cayden Martin singled, scoring two runs.

Albion extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Carter Lueken and Tommy Miller.

The Albion team added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Carter Lueken singled, scoring two runs, Bentley Iverson grounded out, scoring one run, and Tommy Miller drew a walk, scoring one run.

David City Post 125 Juniors scored six runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning.

Rylan Hoadley started the game as pitcher for the Juniors.

The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking two.

Kaden Miller also threw two and one-third innings of scoreless ball for the team in relief. The pitcher allowed three hits, striking out one and walking none.

The Albion boys accumulated 17 hits in the game.

Kaden Miller and Carter Lueken were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for the Juniors while hitting back-toback. Lincoln Rolf collected two hits for the team in four at bats.

The Albion Juniors had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 13 walks for the game. Tommy Miller, Chance Trollope, and Cayden Martin led the team with two free passes each. Kaden Miller, Tyson Webster, and Carter Lueken each stole multiple bases for the team, and all said the Juniors successfully stole nine times during the game.
