The funeral services for Dwaine Jacobson, 89, of Columbus, were held on Monday, July 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Rev. Patrick Sparling officiated. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
Dwaine C. Jacobson was born on October 21, 1934, in rural Newman Grove, to Clarence and Ellen (Anderson) Jacobson, and he died Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Emerald Nursing & Rehab in Columbus.
Jacobson grew up in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1953. On June 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to Marlene Siffring at Immanuel Lutheran Church. On June 15, 1963, they adopted their son, Rick, and on July 27, 1966, their daughter, Denise. Jacobson worked for Central Auto Parts “Big A Auto Parts” for many years until his retirement in 1998. During retirement he drove cars for Ernst Auto Center for many years. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served as an usher for more than 50 years. He loved fishing and especially enjoyed the annual fishing vacation to Minnesota that the family took for more than 40 years.
He was preceded in death by parents: Clarence and Ellen Jacobson; wife: Marlene Jacobson; sister: Dorothy Adams and nephew: Ron Miller Jacobson is survived by his son: Rick Jacobson of Columbus; daughter: Denise (George “Chuck”) McCarthy of Columbus; granddaughter: Amanda (Calen) Staub of Columbus; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Shelby, and Addison; grandson: George (Samantha) McCarthy of Monroe; great grandchildren: Beverley and George; nephew: Rod (Corrine) Miller of Omaha; nephew: Vernon (Donna) Davis of Lincoln; niece: Faye Miller of Mesa, Ariz.
