Cardinal Spirit Squad competed 2024 NCA Nebraska State Cheer & Dance Championships at the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island this weekend.

Boone Central’s cheer team performed in the Game Day category in C1, placing 19th and scoring 72.10 points with no deductions.

On Saturday, the dance team competed in two C1 categories. In their Pom performance, they placed 16th with 66.93 points and no deductions.

With their high kick performance, the Cardinals scored 72.25 points with no deductions and placed fourth as a team.

“All three performances were the best that I have seen this season,” said coach Amy Thompson. “These girls have put a lot of time and effort in preparing for this state competition.”

The Spirit Squad expressed appreciation for support of both the school and community throughout the season.

Boone Central had 20 squad members participating in the Grand Island event.
