Health Center adds Patrick to PT dept.

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) has announced the addition of Clay Patrick as a new Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in their expanding Physical Therapy Department. Clay Patrick grew up on a small ranch outside of Bartlett and earned his Associates of Applied Science as a Physical Therapist from Northeast Community College.

Runners pick up second at West Holt invitational

What do you get when you combine a nicely manicured Cross Country course, cool temperatures, and a fired up team? Fast times at West Holt High! Or improvement, obviously! The Boone Central Harriers traveled north to the Atkinson Country Club to take on a huge bunch of schools from all over north-central Nebraska and came home smiling! Since joining this meet 10 years ago, the Cardinals have dominated the affair, winning at least one trophy each year, along with a massive haul of hardware. BC needed this shot in the arm to help propel them into the upcoming championship season.
Kate Maricle (25) and Johnna Spence (28) lead a group of runners in the West Holt Invitational. Both girls set personal bests for the course. This was the first meet back from injury for Johnna.

Lady Cards take fourth at O’Neill

The Boone Central Girls golf team traveled to the 2024 Mid-States Conference tournament in O’Neill last week, putting in a fourth-place finish. “On Thursday, we went to O’Neill for the Conference tournament,” said Coach Amy Allgood, “The wind made for a tough day out on the course.

Cards battle hard, but drop record to 9-13

The Boone Central volleyball team was active last week with matches against Ord at home and on the road against Battle Creek and Elgin/Elgin Pope John. The Cardinals were off their game at home for Parent’s Night dropping the match to Ord but played hard at the triangular later in the week, stealing one set from a solid Battle Creek squad. The losses drop the Cards to 9-13.
