Sentinel Building Systems in Albion hosted a blood drive last Thursday, collecting 29 units to donate to those in need. Caroling shares season with neighbors

Despite Saturday nights 2-degree temperature, a group of Petersburg Christmas carolers boarded the Rae Valley Heritage’s open air trolly to wish residents a merry Christmas. Due to the biting cold caroling time was shortened somewhat. Soup, cinnamon rolls, Runza’s and refreshments were served following in the PVFD community room.

Big Give number totals continue rolling upward

During the 12th annual Boone County Big Give, 37 Boone County charitable organizations raised awareness and funds to support key projects. During December 1 through December 6, more than $426,000 was raised–bringing the 12-year total to just under $3.5 million raised for local charitable needs.

Lady Cards mark first loss of season

The Boone Central Cardinals turned to a tougher slate of competition in week two with three opponents boasting undefeated or one loss seasons coming in. The Cards battled hard against the perennial playoff contenders from Crofton on Tuesday but couldn’t hold onto a half team lead as they fell to the Warriors 46-38 for their first loss of the season.
