Gordon Eugene Dahlgren, 93, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on Feb, 6, 2024, at his second residence in Roseville, CA.

Gordon was born June 12, 1930, in Sioux City, IA. After his birth, Gordon, with his parents and subsequently two brothers, C. Stanley and Robert Dahlgren, resided in Wakefield where he remained during his youth. In 1930, he was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church, Wakefield, and confirmed in 1944. He worshipped at Morning Star Lutheran Church in Lincoln, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran in Minneapolis. MN, at First Lutheran Church in Omaha, St. John’s Lutheran and Olivet Lutheran in Fargo, ND, and Shepherd of the Hills, in Fountain Hills, AZ. He served on many service clubs as a member and officer, as an officer for Fargo Elks Club, President of the Morning Sertoma Club in Fargo, ND., and as Director and Officer of the Sertoma Club in Scottsdale, AZ. Gordon graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948 and attended Wayne State College from 1948-1950, graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1954 with a BS in Business Administration. He then achieved his MBA in Business from Creighton University in Omaha in 1964 and attended Graduate Studies in Economics in 1972 at the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO.

Gordon served in the United States Airforce from 1952 to 1954. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career within the Telephone Communication field. He was hired in 1954 by the Northwestern Bell Telephone company, where he worked until his retirement in March 1986 from US West, Inc. as the General Auditor and Controller.

Gordon was united in marriage to Inez L. Dahlgren (Moore) on June 28, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion, and they lived throughout the Midwest and in retirement, settled in Rio Verde, AZ until her death in 1995. He married Connie K. Dahlgren (Bruns) on April 21, 2002, in La Jolla, CA and they made their home in Scottsdale, AZ until his death.

He is survived by his wife Connie K. Dahlgren of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter Jennifer Johnson and son-in-law Jerry Johnson of Lincoln, CA, grandchildren: Stephanie Johnson, Andrea Johnson, both of Santa Barbara, CA, and Ryan Johnson of Rocklin, CA, Abigail Naranjo Dahlgren of Tempe, AZ, step-daughter Ashley Brister and step-son-law Terence Brister of Greenville, SC, step-grandchildren: Neill Bickerstaff IV and Margaret Bickerstaff, both of Greenville, SC, along with many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his first spouse Inez L. Dahlgren, son Jeffrey M. Dahlgren, parents: Rosetta and Joel Dahlgren, brothers: C. Stanley Dahlgren and Robert Dahlgren, and other family members.

Memorial service will be on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m., at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion. A luncheon to follow at the Cardinal Inn in Albion.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Veterans Administration.
