Kathleen Ann Modelski, 82, of St. Edward, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home in St. Edward.

Kathleen, daughter of Randolph T. and Frances (Kamin) Sawyer, was born on Aug. 10, 1941, in St. Edward. She received the sacrament of baptism and later confirmed at the St. Edward Catholic Church. Kathleen attended St. Edward Public School and graduated with the class of 1958. On Sept. 26, 1959, Kathleen married the love of her life, Stanley Modelski at the St. Edward Catholic Church. From this union, Kathleen was blessed with two daughters. The couple lived in St. Edward for a few months before moving to a farm near Fullerton. They later moved back to St. Edward where Kathleen has lived since. Kathleen was a bookkeeper at the Co-op elevator for 45 years. Kathleen was a devoted Catholic. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Margaret-Mary Altar Society, Lector, and Eucharistic Minister. She prayed the rosary daily, found peace attending church, and loved teaching her children and grandchildren about the Lord. She enjoyed going for walks and reading.

Kathleen is survived by her two daughters: Rhonda Ehlers of St. Edward and Sheryl Rosno of Albion, grandchildren: Chase (Corinne) Ehlers of Papillion, Whitney (Eric) Smith of St. Edward, Natalie (Frank) Finkral of Norfolk and Alicia (Brandon Beam) Rosno of Lincoln, six great grandchildren: Charlotte Ehlers, Ava, Riptyn, and Ashton Smith, Kaysen and Kyler Finkral, sister Diana Schroeder of Madison, along with many nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley Modelski in 2018, son-in-law Mark Ehlers, brothers: Jack and Duane Sawyer, along with many other family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward with Rev. Mark Tomasiewicz and Deacon Harlan Long officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
