Services for Susan L. Reeder, 73 were held Monday, July 1, 2024 in Olathe, Kans. Interment was at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Susan Lucille Reeder was born on October 24, 1950 in St. Edward, where she grew up on the family farm, and she passed away on June 25, 2024 at the age of 73. Growing up she was active in multiple organizations, including 4-H where she would show livestock and participate in agricultural activities. In 1968 she was even crowned the Boone County 4-H Queen. She also took part in Aksarben and the Nebraska State Fair, showing cattle. She married Cecil Harold Reeder on January 3, 1976 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion.

She then studied at the University of Nebraska and Mid-Plains College, where she obtained her nursing LPN certificate and began working as a surgical nurse at Olathe Medical Center and Humana Hospital. She also spent time teaching the next wave of medical professionals as a Surgical Technology Clinical Coordinator for Sanford Brown College.

Reeder was energetically involved in her community, but particularly with her church and Red Hat Ladies organization. With the church, Abundant Life AoG, she helped to keep the food pantry stocked, put together Easter Egg Hunts for kids, taught Sunday School, and so much more.

She had a loving and charitable heart, donating monetarily when she couldn’t actively do something.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Reeder, her parents Gladys Lucille Jensen and Eugene Jensen, and sisters-in-law Nancy Jensen and Dee Reeder.

Susan L. Reeder, is survived by her sons: Phillip Reeder (with his wife Angela) and Daniel Reeder; and granddaughter Cecelia Reeder, her brothers Mark Jensen (with his children Andy, Zach, and Maggie) and Ted Jensen, and sister Sonja Jensen; siblings-in-law: Bruce Reeder, Sharon Reeder, Jim Reeder (with his wife Jean and son Brett), and Lloyd Reeder (with children Jeff, Jodi, Mark, and Mike)
