A Mass of Christian Burial for Tracy K. Hedlund, 48 of Albion, was held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Albion.

Fr. Stan Schmit and Deacon Paul Weeder officiated and private family interment followed at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Albion.

Lector was Kevin Nelson, services were Vincent Malander and Will Roberts, Brandon Dozler provided music, and giftbearers were Sienna Borer and Brooklyn Primrose.

Pallbearers were Doug Koch, Bryce Spann, Chris Borer, Jesse Brodersen, Denny Michael, Greg Koetter, Roger Gentrup and Ross Nelson.

Tracy Kay Hedlund, daughter of Richard and Janet (Engelhaupt) Ellwanger was born on February 29, 1976, in Sargent, and she passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, surrounded by her family.

Hedlund was baptized and confirmed into the catholic faith at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte. She attended Butte High School and graduated with the class of 1994.

Following high school, she went to the University of South Dakota where she earned her degree in nursing.

On July 7, 1995, she married the love of her life, Randall C. Hedlund at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte. From this union they were blessed with five children.

The couple lived in Vermillion, S.D. and Bloomington, Minn. before moving to Albion in 2000. She has been a registered nurse at Boone County Health Center along with being a coach, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Hedlund was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, chairman of the Albion Softball program, participated in Teammates, and was on the board for St. Michael’s School and the Country Club. She was a fan of the Huskers and Boone Central Cardinals. She enjoyed attending her children’s activities and sports throughout the years. She was beyond proud of all of them! She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Al and Laurine Engelhaupt and Bob and Irene Ellwanger.

Tracy K. Hedlund leaves behind her husband Randy Hedlund of Albion; five children: Tyler (Braley) Hedlund of Omaha; Tessa (Scott) Ketteler of Lincoln; Lauren Hedlund of Sioux City, Iowa; Ashtyn Hedlund of Kearney; Addy Hedlund of Albion; granddaughter: Meredith Hedlund of Omaha; parents: Richard and Janet Ellwanger of Butte; sister: Cari (Jason) Hausmann of Bonesteel, S.D.; brother: Wade Ellwanger of Butte; mother-in-law and father- in-law Dean and Diane Hedlund of O’Neill; four brothers-in-law: Kelly (Jill) Hedlund of Manhattan, Kans.; Todd (Kelly Ann) Hedlund of Lincoln; Mike (Carol) Hedlund of O’Neill; Troy (Deb) Hedlund of Sioux City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Levander Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.levanderfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
