Vikki S. Buhlmann
Vikki Sue Buhlmann, 64, of Albion, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Vikki, daughter of Allen and Bernice (Koehn) Anderson, was born in St. Paul on Dec. 23, 1959. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Vikki graduated as valedictorian from Wheeler Central High School in 1978. She then went to Grand Island School of Business where she obtained her accounting degree. In 1984, Vikki received her Pharmacy Tech credentials.
On May 19, 1979, Vikki married the love of her life, Fred Buhlmann at the Ericson Methodist Church. From this union, Vikki was blessed with two children: Jason and Julie. Vikki lived in Lincoln with their two children while working as a Pharmacy Tech at Shopko for 22 years, followed by Walgreens for eight years. She moved back to rural Albion in 2012 and for the past 11 years Vikki worked with her Wells family at Wells Drug in Albion.
Family was very important to Vikki. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She attended as many activities and events for her grandchildren as she could. She loved Husker volleyball; she and Fred enjoyed many games together. She also enjoyed going to various concerts with her sister Vanessa, frequent trips to the zoo with family and friends, and planning the yearly trip to the beach with her family. She also took pride in carrying on the tradition of weekly Sunday dinners with her family, started by her mother-in-law, Leona. Vikki was very crafty, she crocheted and crossstitched many pieces for family and friends through the years. Due to having breast cancer for 25 years, she was an advocate for breast cancer awareness. Vikki was loved and admired by everyone she met.
Vikki is survived by her husband of 44 years, Fred Buhlmann of Albion, two children: Jason (Rose) Buhlmann of Albion and Julie (Chad) Fras Alcares of Lincoln, grandchildren: Ava, Parker and Keaton Buhlmann, all of Albion, Paxton Fras of Lincoln, sister Vanessa (Virgil) Rieck of Elm Creek, brother Bryan Anderson of Ericson, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her parents, brother Bradley Anderson, sister-inlaw Barb Anderson, parents-in-law Elmer and Leona Buhlmann.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Levander Funeral Home, 1555 S. 6th Street, Albion, with Pastor Mary Avidano Hubert and Pastor Kurt Kinney officiating. Interment followed at Akron Bonanza Cemetery, rural Albion.
