This year’s Boone Central boys golf team has seven returning varsity golfers, led by a three-senior team, and Coach Eric Albers said he’s excited to see how the team progresses through the season.

The Boone Central girls’ basketball team was my first assignment with the paper last year and it was a joy to get to follow them again this year. While I have enjoyed all my assignments with the paper, there is something about your first one.

The Cardinals of Boone Central earned the #2 seed in the C1-4 Subdistrict hosted by #1 seed Omaha Concordia. The #2 seed came with a firstround bye and a date with the Arlington Eagles (12-10) on Tuesday Feb 25th.

The Newman Grove/St. Edward Panther boys basketball team finished up its season in the C2-8 Sub-District tournament this week, falling to the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels.

The Newman Grove/St. Edward Lady Panthers finished up their season of play in the D1-6 NSAA Sub-District D1-6 tournament at Nebraska Christian last week.

The Boone Central girls’basketball season came to an end last week at Sub-Districts in North Bend. The Cardinals started the tournament on a high note with a true shellacking of the Madison Dragons (7-15).

The Boone Central Boys Basketball team wrapped up their regular season last week with Senior Night at home as they hosted conference foe the Crofton Warriors (3-18). The Warriors came intoAlbion riding an eight-game losing streak dating back to Jan 17th.
