The postseason is upon us and the Boone Central track teams did not disappoint at the C-5 District meet in David City. The meet featured 10 teams including many local schools.
The Cardinal track teams competed in their final regular meet of the season last week at the Ord Invitational on Thursday, May 8th. With districts right around the corner, the coaches took the opportunity to rest many of the athletes.
The Boone Central Cardinal Golf team has progressed through their season with the Mid-State Conference on May 6, and just three more meets on the calendar until Districts. The Cardinal golf team hosted a triangular at the Albion Course on May 5, traveled to the Mid State Conference at Ponca on May 6, will head back east to Wayne on May 8, and then play in Norfolk on May 12.
were busy last week, starting with many of the Cardinal athletes being invited to the Central Nebraska Track Championships in Grand Island on April 28th. The meet featured athletes from 33 schools.
The Boone Central junior high track season began back on April 7th with the Boone Central Middle School Quad. The meet brought Fullerton, Newman Grove/St Edward and Neligh-Oakdale to Albion.
For the first time this season, the Cardinals track teams visited a location other than Albion or Wayne, heading to the Dave Gee Invitational in Grand Island on April 24th. This was a massive meet with fifteen teams from across the state including: Adams Central, Aurora, Broken Bow, Central City, Cozad, Grand Island Central Catholic, Holdrege, Milford, Minden, Norris, Grand Island Northwest, O’Neill, Omaha Skutt Catholic, and Waverly.
The Boone Central track teams made a return trip to Wayne last week for the Wayne Blue Devil Invite on April 8th. The meet included athletes from Columbus Scotus, Pierce, Wakefield, Columbus Lakeview, David City, Tekamah-Herman, and the host school Wayne.
