St. Edward’s newest business building is now being occupied. Cncrete sidewalks were completed recently for the new St., Edward Floral building in St. Edward, and inventory was being moved to the new location last weekend.

Alex Meyer, the Agricultural Education instructor at St. Edward Community Schools, was awarded the Outstanding Early Career Teacher Award by the Nebraska Agricultural Educators Association (NAEA) at the NAEA awards ceremony held June 5 at the Nebraska Career Education Conference.

St. Edward Explorers traveled last week to Washington, DC, under the guidance of Temi Texley (center). The group is standing in front of the White House, and includes students (l.-r.) Josie Sock, Korina Bittner, Katelyn Werts, Macy Reardon, Kalvin Sindelar and Ryder Beekman.

Many businesses and volunteer organizations are dealing with a shortage of personnel these days. In Nebraska, volunteer firefighters and EMTs are in short supply.

Awards and recognition of many achievements during the past year were presented at the St. Edward FFA Banquet on Monday, April 22.

St. Edward and Newman Grove Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a training program this Thursday, April 25, on volunteer fire and rescue for juniors at both St. Edward and Newman Grove High Schools from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rebekah Ketelsen, a junior at St. Edward High School, has been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Comhusker Girls State June 2-8, 2024, at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

St. Edward American Legion Post 226 is announcing that Jacob Reeves and Marcos Campa have been selected to attend Cornhusker Boys State from June 2-8, 2024 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln downtown campus.
