This past week, Boone Central had additional senior student-athletes sign their Letters of Intent to play sports at the collegiate level. The 2024 class continues to make its mark on Cardinal athletics, inspiring those who have the same dreams.

Boone Central hit a bit of a momentum speed bump in a tough loss to GI Northwest Thursday, but the Cardinals were still able to get a split in the week’s two games and have been been victorious in 8 of their last 10 games.

Boone Central Girls Golf Coach Amy Allgood has received a new award created by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA). The NSAA has anoounced the inaugural recipients of the NSAA Champions for Coaches award.

Serenity Strong qualified for and competed in the Nebraska High School Class B State Bowling Tournament Feb 5. Serenity also qualified for state a year ago, finishing 30th.

The rosters for the 66th Nebraska Shrine Bowl football game were announced this past weekend and two members of Boone Central’s undefeated Class C1 state championship team were chosen to represent the Cardinals.

The Boone Central Cardinals were on the brink this weekend, but could not quite span the threshold and claim the 2024 Mid-State Conference boys basketball championship. Boone Central opened the ‘24 tourney by thrashing Crofton and advanced to the title game with a clutch win over Class C2 #6 ranked Hartington Cedar Catholic.

The Lady Cardinals basketball team headed to West Point for the Mid-State Conference Tournament Jan. 29, faciing all-too-familiar foe Battle Creek. The Bravettes had bested Boone Central just a few nights earlier. Boone battled hard, but Battle Creek simply proved too tough, defeating the Cards 35-21.

Boone Central’s middle school boys squared off against tough opponents Battle Creek and Lakeview this past week. The A team continued its hot start, picking up two wins, while the B team continued to fight for its first victory.
