Card JV boosts mark to 11-2

Boone Central’s junior varsity boys lifted their season record to 11-2 with a pair of hard-fought victories this past week. The JV Cards opened their week Tuesday edging host Guardian Angels Central Catholic 53-49.

Boone County 4-H Shooting Sports: Organizational Leaders: Brian Maricle Project leaders: Ryan Neidhardt, Michelle Neidhardt, Jason Reynoldson, Mark Hooker, Joe Diessner, Rob Miller, Rob Smith, Maggie Smith, John Moeller, and Sean Kohl. Teaches basic skills in BB Gun, Air Rifle, Archery, Shotgun, .22 rifle, with a focus on Safety and Learning.
WILDLIFE ARTS -- These 4-H members created fossil prints at the summer Wildlife Arts workshop.

Clover Kids Corner

4-H Clover Kids is the officially recognized 4-H program in Nebraska for children under the age of eight. The program is designed to provide 5- to 7-year-olds a variety of educational and recreational experiences in a non-competitive environment. 4-H Clover Kids provides an excellent opportunity for youth to achieve their highest potential because early life experiences affect future development.

Lady Cards salvage split with win at Ord

After a longer than anticipated winter break due to the arrival of extreme winter weather, the Boone Central Lady Cardinals were back on their home court on Jan. 18 to face a tough Columbus Scotus squad (8-5). The freezing temperatures of the past couple weeks unfortunately seeped into the gym and the Shamrocks were able to ice the Cards 44-17.

Card bowlers clip Spalding Academy

The Boone Central boys bowling team was back in action after winter break with a duel against Spalding Academy (3-2) January 5 at Newman Grove. The Shamrocks are in the first year of their bowling program and have fashioned a good start.

Lipker officially commits to Concordia

Cardinal senior Jaxon Lipker signed his track/field Letter Of Intent with Concordia University Jan. 17 at the Boone Central competition gym. The 6’6 high jump phenom, who currently holds the event record at Boone Central (6’5), is ready to take his talents to the next level.
