Boone Central FCCLA members earn District STAR awards

Some 22 Boone Central High School FCCLA Chapter recently participated in the Nebraska Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America District Leadership STAR competition at Madison High School. The annual event included competitors from many area schools.

Each year during Catholic Schools Week, St. Michael’s recognizes a past graduate and presents a Distinguished Alumni Award for their parish and community involvement. This year’s award recipient was Sarah Grape (center), a 1991 St. Michael’s graduate. She has served on various parish committees, being Altar Society President, Circle Leader and is currently a Lector. She has also taught for many years in the Parish Religious Education Program. She also is willing to help out and volunteer at many parish events. She is shown with Father Mark Tomasiewicz (left) and School Board President Mary Osantowski.
