Doris Dale Kelly, 80, formerly of Albion, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at the Country House in Grand Island.

Barrett Cole Berger, 12-day-old-infant son of Eric and Eleanor Berger of Spalding, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24,2024, at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.

July 17, 1929 — December 29, 2023 Gloria Lou Johnson, 94, of Spring Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her three daughters, granddaughter, Alyssa, and grand-hound, Flunter. Gloria was bom in Newman Grove, baptized, confirmed and married at Shell Creek Lutheran Church.

Some 22 Boone Central High School FCCLA Chapter recently participated in the Nebraska Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America District Leadership STAR competition at Madison High School. The annual event included competitors from many area schools.

Each year during Catholic Schools Week, St. Michael’s recognizes a past graduate and presents a Distinguished Alumni Award for their parish and community involvement. This year’s award recipient was Sarah Grape (center), a 1991 St. Michael’s graduate. She has served on various parish committees, being Altar Society President, Circle Leader and is currently a Lector. She has also taught for many years in the Parish Religious Education Program.
