Tallgrass gets permission to convert pipeline to CO2

Tallgrass Energy recently received permission from the federal government to convert its existing Trailblazer pipeline, which currently carries methane gas across Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming, into a carbon dioxide (C02) pipeline.

John Lajba has grown accustomed to having Lady Liberty loom over him while he works in his downtown Omaha studio. Still, the sculptor would rather see the weathered 9-foot copper statue depart his studio shelf - its home for the past 30 years - and placed back where it belongs.

Honored for 70 years

Newman Grove resident Elliott Broberg (center) was honored last week as a 70-year member of American Legion Post 73, Newman Grove. He was presented a 70-year membership certificate and pin by Commander Ivan Herchenbach and Treasurer and Former Adjutant Ray Flood. Elliot served the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, 1949-1953. He served on the destroyer USSYarnall, including two combat tours along the coasts of Korea. Newman Grove’s American Legion Post has been part of the community for nearly 104 years.
