Bill Schriver receives Living Veteran award
Bill Schriver, an active member of the Albion community for more than 50 years, was named the 2024 Living Veteran by local veterans’ organizations at Monday’s Veterans Day ceremony in the Boone Central Gym.
Toy Show held here Sunday
A first Albion Toy Show was held Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Cardinal Inn Event Center in Albion. The show was organized and staged by Linda, Aaron and Dan Hamling, and they are hoping to make it an annual event in Albion. This year’s show featured 14 exhibitors, with many collectors attending.

Medlin honored for 75 years
Beulah Chapter #40, Order of Eastern Star, Norfolk, honored Fern Medlin (right) for 75 years of membership recently. Fern was initiated Dec. 29, 1949 at Areme Chapter #124, Coleridge, NE when she was on Christmas break from college. She had just turned 18.
Albion Cub Scouts planning sock drive
Cub Scout Pack 155 of Albion is having a sock drive. They are accepting donations that will go to the Boone County Food Pantry. The Pack is asking for community donations of new socks, hats, gloves and mittens for all ages.
Blood donors come through with 89 units at November drive
The Albion community hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, Nov. 4, where 89 units of blood of life saving blood were collected from 78 donors.
