On Friday, February 28th, Mrs. Meyer and FFA members loaded up and headed to Grand Island for District Career Development Event at Central Community College.
The Boone Central 2025 musical was “Curtains” - a “whodunit” from a unique perspective of a theatre troupe that is under lock and key after mysterious murders in their midst following a performance.
The Albion FFA alumni hosted the 30th-annual “Gateway to the Sandhills” bullride and event this weekend at the Boone CountyAg and Education Center Niewohner Arena at the fairgrounds. This year’s event stock was provided by Double S Bull Company crew.
The Boone-Nance Cattlemen are planning their annual banquet for Saturday, April 5, at the Event Center, Boone County Fairgrounds, Albion. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m.
Cody Maricle of Boone County took top honors at the 2024 Nebraska Farm Bureau (NEFB) Collegiate Discussion Meet. The award was announced Dec. 10 at the Member Appreciation luncheon at Nebraska Farm Bureau’s 107th Annual Meeting and Convention in Kearney. Maricle earned the top score during the final round of Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Collegiate Discussion Meet held during the Nebraska Farm Bureau Annual Meeting and Convention. The contest aims to simulate a committee meeting rather than a debate where competitors offer solutions to timely problems facing agriculture.
Wednesday evening was the finale of the Wednesday night pool games at the Legion and four players came out on top. Taking first place were (upper left): Delbert Seier and Omar Lopez; upper right, Bob Foss and Nick Mook also fared well; and below: Nick Mook, pool commissioner racked up the balls for the final round of play. Some will have an additional chance in the March Alumni tournament
The 30th annual Gateway to the Sandhills Bull Ride is right around the corner, with the event scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 22 at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Niewohner Arena in Albion.
