The Boone Central cheerleaders competed in Traditional Tumbling and Game Day on Friday, February 20th. While they did not place in the top 5, they achieved their highest scores since we have been participating in cheer competitions.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, the Cardinals needed a short memory to shake off the late season losing skid and refocus for subdistricts. They drew the O’Neill subdistrict C1-5 as a #2 seed meaning they would start things out against #3 Arlington (12-11) on Feb 17th.

The Boone Central girls and boys wrestling teams both qualified members for the 2026 individual tournaments that were held last week at the CHI Center in Omaha – returning home with two state medalists for the program. “What a long week with lots of good wrestling,” said Coach Josh Majerus.

Troy Mach discovered Concordia University, Nebraska’s graduate program offerings while searching for an online program that would honor as many credits as possible from his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.

Boone County Weed Superintendent, Margaret Valladao, was honored with the 2025 Region 3 Superintendent of the Year Award for the State of Nebraska. This award was presented during the 79th NWCAAnnual Conference and Trade Show held in Norfolk, Nebraska.
