LPD pays out leases

From the Boone Co Sheriff’s Office State Statute 60-489 - Operator’s License; duty to carry and exhibit; exception; officers; power to demand presentation. Except for a farm permit issued under section 60-4,126, the operator’s License shall at all times be carried by the licensee when operating a motor vehicle on the highways of this state and shall be presented by the licensee for examination, or he or she shall present proof of ownership of the same, upon demand by an officer, employee, or agent of the Nebraska State Patrol or police or peace officer recognized as such by the laws of this state. Such officer, employee, or agent shall, in every case of making demand on the motor vehicle operator to show an operator’s license, first display proper evidence of his or her lawful authority to act as an officer of the law.

Benes on Shrine Bowl North team

The 68th annual Nebraska Shrine Bowl football game will be played on Saturday, June 6 in Kearney, with a number of local players on the roster. Playing for this year’s North team will be: Albion: Brogan Benes This year’s North team coaches are Cameron Lenhart of Bennington; Kurt Altig of North Platte; Troy Schuleter of Arlington; Tony Kobza of Raymond Central; Jim Clarkson of Clarkson-Leigh; Brandon Mimick of Bennington and Zach Byrd of Fort Calhoun.

Two qualify for Girls State wrestling

The Lady Cardinals wrestling team traveled to Columbus for the B-2 District last weekend, and picked up two state qualifiers from the tough tournament. “What a stacked district,” said Coach Josh Majerus.
Leynn Luna and Payton Becker qualified for state.

Junior High Cardinals finish season at home

The Boone Central Middle School girls wrestling team finished their season with a home invitational last week. “Please congratulate them on their performances all season,” said Coach Josh Majerus.

New Superintendent accepts position

Following a series of special meetings, interviews and executive sessions, the Newman Grove Board of Education offered the school’s top job last Thursday, and received an acceptance from Tyler Beranek, former principal at Lindsay Academy.

Strong wins 6th at State Bowling

Lady Panthers end season at Plainview

Body
Three Lady Panther wrestlers ended their regular seasons at the B-1 District tournament in Plainview last week. At 120, Mackenzie Wiese (13-16) won with a bye, pinned Segelke of Minden, lost by pin to Thompson of Yutan and lost by pin to Settje of Laurel-Concord-Colerdige.
