Albion Juniors split games so far in season

The Albion Cornerstone Junior Legion for Post #162 is already six games into the 2026 season, getting an even record after their last game at David City on Sunday. The team picked up three wins and three losses – starting out with a game against the Rebels at home, winning 7-6; they traveled to David City on May 28, falling 9-11, which would be avenged in great fashion later.

Attack girls play at Districts in Plainview ...

All levels of the Albion Attack softball teams participated in District tournaments this past week. The 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U all continued their seasons at Crofton or Plainview this past weekend, competing in district tournaments and picking up State tournament tickets.

BCHC updates new notification system

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) has announced announce an upgrade to the patient appointment notification system, with a go-live date of June 16, 2026. This enhanced service will now be available for all outpatient appointments, including Clinic visits, CT scans, MRI appointments, mammograms, therapies, surgical services, and other outpatient procedures at all BCHC locations.

Albion Seniors play in three since start of season

The Albion Cornerstone Senior Legion Post #162 team got off to a bit slower start than their Junior compatriots, with just three games played since their season kicked off on May 21 this year. The Seniors played the Rebels, winning 6-4, on May 21; traveled to David City for a loss, 1-9, on May 28, and took a close loss, 9-8, to Plainview’s Senior Legion team on June 2.

Pull held at Fairgrounds...

The Albion Tractor Pull held on Sunday June 7th at the Boone County Fairgrounds was a huge success. The infield of the race track was bursting with tractors from many counties according to the license plates on the trucks and trailers parked west of the track.

Summer is right around the corner, so this week, I would like to provide a reminder of two important deadlines that occur on Tuesday, June 30th. First, June 30th is the last day for individuals to file for a Homestead Exemption for property tax relief.
