Health Center donates AED to Ericson Lake

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) has awarded its second automated external defibrillator (AED) of the year to Ericson Lake, a popular recreation site that draws an estimated 20,000 visitors annually for camping, river activities, and fishing.

Stokes joins Boone Health Center Board

Boone County Health Center welcomes Gary Stokes as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Stokes was officially appointed by the Boone County Commissioners at their May meeting and steps into the position previously held by Don Casper, who served on the hospital board for 12 years, following prior service on the BCHC Foundation Board.

BCHC celebrates 40 years for cardiac services department

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) will host a week-long celebration June 9–13, 2025, to honor 40 years of Cardiac Rehabilitation Services. Events are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with a special community gathering on Wednesday, June 11 from 1:00–2:30 PM at the BCHC South Entrance.

Fitness Center holds celebration

There were just over 100 people that came to the Boone County Fitness Center for the organization’s 40th Celebration. Grillers served up some great meats and Craig Bygland came away with first place in the People’s Choice competition.

Salwei joins BCHC team

Boone County Health Center welcomed Amber Salwei, Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), to the therapy team. Salwei brings with her nearly two decades of experience in physical therapy, spanning a variety of settings including outpatient care, skilled nursing, acute rehab, and home health.

During this event, Thrivent along with shred attendees donated items and assembled Birthday party bags for the Boone County Area Food Pantry.

Shred event to help Food Pantry

Jill Anding of Thrivent, a Fortune 500 diversified financial services organization, is partnering with the Boone County Area Food Pantry to host a shred event. During this event, Thrivent will offer free paper shredding to the community, and assemble and donate Birthday Party Bags to the food pantry People are invited to join the event on Wednesday, April 30, from 4-6 p.m., at 1112 W State Street to help the Boone County Area Food Pantry with a goal of assembling 50 Birthday Party Bags.
