Body If you’re a student planning a medical career, rural Nebraska wants you. That’s the message -- both from the state’s rural hospitals, and from the University of Nebraska at Kearney Health Sciences program.

Body Dayna Sharp, a junior at Boone Central High School, has been chosen to atend American Legion Auxiary Cornhusker Girls State, June 2-8, 2024, on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.

Body Boone Central FBLA had one of their best state leadership conferences of all time last week, April 11-13, at Kearney. “The senior class reminded everyone why they are always a force to be reckoned with,” said FBLA sponsor Joel Sup.

Body Four Newman Grove churches -- Immanuel Zion Lutheran, Newman Grove Methodist, Shell Creek Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran celebrated the 150th anniversaries of their founding last Sunday, April 14, with a meal and special program.

Body Some 31 Boone Central junior and senior students, accompanied by sponsors, participated in Close Up program in Washington, DC, March 24-29. Students/sponsors attending were (back, l.-r.

Body Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family traveled to the Neligh-Oakdale Invitational this past April 9. It was great competition, which provided new top marks for the track/field athletes this season.

Body Albion community hosted an Honor Blood Drive on April 8 for Mary Urwin and Donna Iwan, saluting their long-time volunteer service to the American Red Cross blood drives here. Kyle Jensen from the Red Cross presented them with a cake and gifts for their service.

Body Planning, fund-raising and construction efforts are continuing at Lindsay for the new Lindsay Academy, an independent 7-12 Christian school to be located there.

Body First Communion was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at a 2 p.m. Mass. Communicants were (front, l. to r.
