In the midst of tornado warnings, thunder and circling clouds on the horizon, the Quilt of Valor presentation was still held at the Madison County Fair and Rodeo on Thursday, July 10 during Veterans’ Night at the rodeo.

On Monday, Joseph Kaufman was sworn in as Ponderay Police Department’s new Chief of Police, filling the vacancy left behind with Chief Cornelius’ retirement last week. Chief Kaufman is a very accomplished law enforcement officer with over 25 years of experience.

The Newman Grove/St. Edward Panther track teams finished out their season at the NSAA C-5 District Tournament in David City’s Aquinas High School last week, with one Panther pulling out all the stops and qualifying for State.

Micah Cuevas of Newman Grove/St. Edward recently competed in the Central Nebraska Track Championships in Grand Island.
