Lady Panthers end season at Plainview

Three Lady Panther wrestlers ended their regular seasons at the B-1 District tournament in Plainview last week. At 120, Mackenzie Wiese (13-16) won with a bye, pinned Segelke of Minden, lost by pin to Thompson of Yutan and lost by pin to Settje of Laurel-Concord-Colerdige.

Strong wins 6th at State Bowling

Representing Newman Grove/St. Edward’s bowling team, Serenity Strong won sixth-place at the Class B Girls State bowling tournament in Lincoln this past Monday.

New Superintendent accepts position

Body
Following a series of special meetings, interviews and executive sessions, the Newman Grove Board of Education offered the school’s top job last Thursday, and received an acceptance from Tyler Beranek, former principal at Lindsay Academy.

Hunters Education held...

A Hunter Safety Class was held three times this past week in Newman Grove for a total of 8 hours class time. Twenty-five kids attended the class. Students came Newman Grove and the surrounding towns. The classes were held at the Newman Grove Bowl. Instructors were Alvin Meyer, Ryan Chilson and Tim Krueger.

This week, elementary classes at Newman Grove Public Schools celebrated 100 days of school. The Kindergarten celebrated by building math centers where we built a tower with 100 cups, made a gumball machine with 100 dots, finished a 100 chart puzzle, made a picture with 100 pattern blocks and created art using the number 100..

Junior High Panthers win over Palmer Tigers

The junior high Panthers basketball team started the second full week of January with another home game against the Palmer Tigers. The Panthers picked up a good head of steam in the first quarter, 120, over Palmer, and led 15-6 heading into the halftime break.
