The Boone Central High School Student Council hosted a “Penny War” between the homeroom classes to help raise money for donations to the Boone County Food Pantry. During the week of Feb.

Last week, the Boone County Development Agency (BCDA) presented a $1,500 check to Jacii Lopez, owner of A Kidz Life 2 Daycare, located in Petersburg. The funds are part of BCDA’s Energizing Entrepreneurs program, which is designed to support local entrepreneurs as they pursue opening a business in Boone County.

Boone Central will present its 2025 musical, “CURTAINS School Edition,” Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m.

Bryan Mohnsen, lead mechanic, recently celebrated his 5-year service anniversary with Cornhusker Public Power District. He was hired in November 2019 as a mechanic/utility person. He was promoted to lead mechanic in April 2022.
