Tami Kester, RN/supervisor, is the 2025 Caring Kind Award Winner of Antelope Memorial Hospital. Tami was recognized for this prestigious award on Tuesday, May 13th during National Hospital Week.
The Nebraska Junior High Rodeo Association will be hosting the state finals this weekend in Albion at the Boone County Agricultural Center/Niewhoner Arena. A few hundred young people are expected to attend, with parents and horses, to compete to be Nebraska’s best in their class and age group.
The 2025 Nebraska Rod and Custom Association have announced the “traveling car show’s” route for this summer, including a trip up Highway 14 through a number of communities. On Sunday, June 1, 440-plus classic vehicles will be traveling through the communities, including a stop at the Boone County Fairgrounds for the group’s morning break until 10 a.m.

Members of the Boone Central Band and Choir traveled to Norfolk High School for District Music Contest on Friday, April 25th. Norfolk High School was the host site of 16 schools.
St. Michael’s students are hard at work preparing for their spring concert titled “ The Story of Joseph.” Music for the performance will transport listeners to ancient Egypt where they hear about Joseph being sold into slavery, rising to power, and eventually forgiving his brothers.
Talan Stokes and Melany Priester were named the 2025 Boone Central Prom King and Queen at the recent festivities over the weekend. This year’s theme was “Jurassic Prom 25” - and featured a Grand Promenade where students could show off their outfits, the coronoation and the dance that followed.
The Albion Cub Scout Pack held its annual Pinewood Derby competition this past weekend, with scouts of all ages participating in three groups with winners moving to the grand finals.
