The Rasmussen family has celebrated a second five-generation picture with the birth of Emmett to parents Andrew and Sarah Rasmussen of Crete. Pictured are, front row (l to r): Larry Rasmussen, Phyllis Rasmussen, holding Emmett Rasmussen; and back row: David Rasmussen and Andrew Rasmussen.

Barely two weeks away, the Boone County Fair kicks off on Saturday, July 12 at the Fairgrounds in Albion – with events through the 16th for all ages and interests. This year’s theme for the Fair and Parade is “Bee Happy at the Boone County Fair” – and floats and fairgoers are encouraged to make use of the them in their celebrations.

Nicholas Groeteke was named Champion Market Steer and Overall Champion Market Beef at the Boone County Junior Leaders “Beef-A-Rama” that was held over Memorial Day weekend at the Albion fairgrounds.
