The Boone-Nance Cattlemen are planning their annual banquet for Saturday, April 5, at the Event Center, Boone County Fairgrounds, Albion. Social hour will begin at 6 p.m.
Cornhuker Public Power District is seeking applications from 9, 10 and 11 grade students to attend the Youth Energy Leadership Camp. Cornhusker Public Power District will sponsor six students to attend the all-expense paid camp, including transportation to and from camp.
Boone Central will present its 2025 musical, “CURTAINS School Edition,” Friday and Saturday, March 21-22, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m.
Twenty-three Cardinals Club wrestlers competed at the Nebraska USA Districts wrestling tournament on Saturday, March 1 at O’Neill High School. “We have the largest districts with some brackets carrying over 16 wrestlers,” said Coach Josh Majerus.

Madison Gompert of Albion has been selected by the Veterans of Foreign Wars as the Nebraska State Winner for her Voice of Democracy speech, moving her forward into the National competition in Washington D.C.
A Knights of Columbus Hoop Shoot was held in Spalding on February 9. The District 21 free throw champions were: Laureen Gompert, Mia Curry, Brittni Ray, Maggie Krohn, Easton Heikes, Nolan Carraher, Barret Gleisinger, Aaron Weltruski and Easton Hunt.
Boone County Health Center (BCHC) Foundation has announced that ticket sales are now live for its biennial gala, a Masquerade Ball. The event will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Cardinal Inn Event Center.
Students from 37 schools in Northeast Nebraska were selected for participation in the Stanton Junior High Honor Band. Included in this selection were 10 Boone Central band students.
The Lady Cardinals wrestling team traveled to Ord for the 2025 NSAA Girls B District 1 wrestling tournament, picking up fourth overall as a team, and qualifying five Lady Cardinals to the State tournament.
