Two to Chadron Hall of Fame

Two graduates of Boone Central High School will be among nine inductees into the Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame the evening of Saturday, October 5. They are Mary Wells, now of San Antonio, Texas, and Josh Majerus, who lives at Petersburg and is a teacher and coach at his high school alma mater.

Cards softball team racking up wins, 12-9

The Boone Central Lady Cardinals have marked about the three-quarter point in their fall 2024 season and have had some great successes. So far in the season, the Lady Cards have picked up a 12-9 record with wins over Highway 91, Blue River, Polk County, North Bend Central, Pierce, Centura, Logan View/ Scribner-Snyder, York and Wayne, doubling up on multiple games.

Lady Cards update record to 6-4 over week

Boone Central (6-4) faced some stiff competition on the court this week with a home match against Crofton (7-1) on Tuesday followed by the Stanton Triangular against Norfolk Catholic (8-2) and Stanton (5-3) on Thursday and finally the Central City Invite on Saturday against Centennial (5-9), Wood River (6-8), and Adams Central (5-4).

Dinged up Cardinals downed at home

Last week’s bout with the Knights left the Cardinals more than a bit banged up.And with perennial stalwart Battle Creek coming to town, there was no time to nurse the wounds. The Braves came out looking to play Battle Creek football and simply overpower the Cardinals, and the BC defense held strong on the first drive stopping the Braves after a modestly successful drive.
