The Lady Cardinals softball team traveled to the “NEN Viper” (Pender and Wisner-Pilger) invitational on Saturday, Aug. 31, bringing home runner-up honors.

The Boone Central Cardinals volleyball team got off to a hot start to the 2024 campaign this past week with five contests between the NSAA Hall of Fame Jamboree exhibition and the Plainview Tournament ending the week with five wins under their belt.

The Boone County Raceway held its second to last events of the year’s schedule this past weekend, August 16-17. The “Added Extra Night” was held on August 16, and the “Midwest Vintage Showdown” for MCSA and GOTRA was held on August 17.

Longtime head wrestling coach, Dale Bonge, now retired, was recently inducted into the Nebraska USA Wrestling Circle of Honor as a 2024 candidate for his efforts and service to the sport of wrestling.
In lieu of regular races this week, the Boone County Raceway held Go-Cart Races at the local track. Racers from mainly the local area took the final positions in each race, from Albion, Columbus, Elgin, Scotia and more.
