Body I’ve been hearing a lot of talk lately about the “state of things” and how the world is much worse than it used to be. I suppose every generation always thinks that they’ve got it worse than every other generation.

Body I really like history I’ve spent a better part of half my life recording it. Personal history - community history - the things we come from are fantastically important - “those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.” (My paraphrase.

Body I really love 'lists' of things. I have lots of those tshirts that list things that are fun or funny, I make copious notes that involve usually multiple pads of paper with multiple different lists of things to do, things to remember and things to make sure not to forget.

Body No one really prepares you for how fast time seems to go past. Everyone must still be about 15 or so in their head - it’s really how it feels some days.

Body One thing I do very much appreciate about the internet is that it is an endless flow of technology and information. The bad part about that is - it’s the endless flow of technology and information that is the extent of human intelligence.

Body We’ve got chickens at our house - like - alot of them. We put together about 150 chickens (which is where all the eggs come from) - we had a dog a number of years ago, but she got cancer and died, and so we’d been without said dog for quite a few years.

Body We’ve got busy times and slow times in the newspaper business - school starting is a big deal, assessments and valuations are a big deal - there’s things all over the place most times. But for some reason, June has become the endall.

Body I get it - social media is super handy. It’s a vote for self-reliance, it’s a vote for “knowledge is power” or whatever thing you want to add to it.
