It almost seems impossible, but the mid-point of the year is nearly upon us, and with that it’s time for another class of our brightest to head off into the world. I have a college age daughter, and a high schooler and two under second grade, so I’m in this parenting thing for the long haul.

After my medical escapades almost a lifetime ago now, my wife purchased me one of those watches that “watches” you. It tells the time, and the stuff, for sure - but it also tells me how many steps I’ve taken for the day.

I really don’t have much else that I know how to do. When I was a kid, there was a Disney cartoon that I really wanted to model my life around - the one where Goofy does a bunch of jobs, one that starts with every letter of the alphabet.

There are a lot of times that have passed in my life that I really was hoping that someone would jump out from behind a pile of crates and yell that the entire thing was actually a huge joke. I don’t handle confrontation well, and though I usually seek it out, I really don’t like having personal conversations in quiet rooms with just a few people.

There are some times in life when you just feel like your hands are tied and there’s no where to go. It doesn’t come up often, but it does depend on your own personal will and motivation to see things through.

Newspapering is a wild world event. Publishers spend lots of time, conventions and talking with each other - trying to re-invent the wheel and find the “next big thing” that will entice readers to utiltize our product.

Everything seems so easy now. Anything we want is a simple click and shipment away.

I’m a sucker for a good auction. I really can’t hold myself back, there’s just something so magical about bidding and then having them call on you and then winning something you don’t really need, but trying to find a way to get it into your car with or without your wife knowing and dragging someone else’s stuff to your house and making it your own.
