On Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10 a.m., the Petersburg Fire Department will be testing the village civil defense outdoor warning system (fire whistle). This signal will be used if a tornado is approaching Petersburg.

Boone County voters are being notified this week of the 2024 primary election coming up May 14 by County Clerk Sarah Robinson. Boone County has all-mail elections, and ballots are expected to be mailed out by Wednesday, April 24.
