Boone County voters are being notified this week of the 2024 primary election coming up May 14 by County Clerk Sarah Robinson. Boone County has all-mail elections, and ballots are expected to be mailed out by Wednesday, April 24.

Hands-on workshop on rescue procedures/extrication held

Brian Busse, instructor from the Nebraska Fireman’s Training Division, was here for a hands-on workshop demonstrating new rescue procedures and how extrication is evolving. He said, “Today things are changing rapidly including most car bodies which are now aluminum. Various models have the seatbelt post located in different places.”

Monday was a Snowy Day.....

Boone County was on the border-line of rain/ice and snow in the forecasts over the weekend. Most of the day was rain on Sunday, which became ice and turned to snow early Monday morning. Shown top to bottom are: Snowplow was cleaning snow on Petersburg’s Main Street near Petersburg Building and Supply. Snow was being cleared between the Petersburg Village Office and Great Plains State Bank. And, snow was piled in the middle of Main Street to be removed at a later time.

PCC’s Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the big park next to Highway 14 at 1 p.m., sharp. Groups will be divided by age up to and including age 10.
