Spence carries Cardinal runners to runner-up spot

A week after tying the Wayne girls’ team at the Boone Central Invitational, the Boone Central Cross Country ladies were out to prove that that wasn’t a fluke. A move by veteran runner, Johnna Spence made sure that happened at the big Norfolk Catholic Invitational.

Cardinal Cage building going up

Last December, the idea of a new “Cardinal Cage” building to be built at the Albion Sports Complex was discussed with the Albion City Council, and just a few months shy of a year later, that idea took some shape at the ball fields with the buildling being constructed in short fashion.
The Cardinal Cage building had a flurry of activity last week.

Boone Central Harriers off and running at home invite

An unseasonal cool greeted cross country teams from at least 15 schools last Friday morning for the 54th annual Boone Central Invitational. This cool weather brought out the competition in the runners, creating team races that couldn’t have been much closer.

West Holt course proves tricky for Cardinal golfers

Week three of the Boone Central girls golf season was last week and featured a trip to Holt County for the West Holt Invite in Atkinson. The invitational featured 10 teams from across northern Nebraska including Ainsworth, Battle Creek, Burwell, Crofton, Elkhorn Valley, O’Neill, Pierce, and Valentine.
