With the fall seasons winding down, the football and volleyball Cardinals have joined the cross country and girls golf teams into their post-season of play. The Lady Cardinals were ranked third in the C1-5 Subdistrict bracket and traveled to Leigh to play against #2 Homer, winning the game, 3-0 and moving into the sub-district final on Oct.

The week before the Nebraska State Cross Country Championships is a very stressful time. Besides the “coming down” from a high after qualifying for the big event, the Boone Central girls’ team and the lone boy qualifier, Logan Thompson, faced a myriad of heavy thoughts.

The Boone Central Lady Cards volleyball team traveled to Guardian Angels Central Catholic for their first game fo the Mid-States Conference tournament on Monday, Oct. 20.

The weather was agreeable, the breeze was light, and the course was fast. These were all key factors to a successful Mid State Conference meet hosted at O’Neill Golf Club on Thursday, October 9th.

It’s easy to get a little comfortable on a four-game winning streak. Even easier when your opponent is 1-5 and you’re playing on your home field. But comfort is rarely a good thing in high school sports.

With the cool fall air moving in and the leaves beginning to turn, the golf season is definitely on the back nine. Last week, the Cardinals had back-toback meets.
