The Newman Grove-St. Edward Panthers played in two games since last report, falling to David City, 498, and Humphrey-Lindsay, 38-24, as the team narrows down on the end of the season with just three games left.
It’s a whole new season with the Boone Central record back to an even 2-2 after two dominant wins. Last week brought a visit from the Cross County Cougars also sitting at 2-2 and looking to rebound from back to back losses.
The Boone Central Softball team split games at home at the Boone Central Triangular, nearing the end of the regular season and clinging to a winning record at 13-12. The team played in the Mid-States Conference tournament on September 27, and hosted a triangular on September 29, coming out the other side with two wins and three losses.
Saturday Boone Central A, B and C teams headed to Battle Creek for tournament play with Battle Creek and Cedar Catholic. The C team led off against Battle Creek C losing in two: 21-25, 16-25.
The golfers from Boone Central ended up with a lighter week than planned as their triangular with Columbus Scotus and Lakeview was cancelled due to course conditions last Thursday. But the girls just saved up a little extra for their home invite Saturday.
