The Boone Central Middle School girls wrestling team finished their season with a home invitational last week. “Please congratulate them on their performances all season,” said Coach Josh Majerus.

The Boone Central Cardinals and Lady Cardinal wrestling teams hosted the 2026 Dale Bonge wrestling invitational at the local school last weekend, Jan. 31.

The Boone Central girls basketball team took their five-game winning streak North to Norfolk Catholic (8-9) on Jan 29th. The Knights proved no match for the Cardinals as they bulldozed their way to a big win to extend their winning streak to six games.

Not often that a high school team plays only two games in a week with both against the same school. But that’s exactly what was on the Cardinal boys docket last week.

Boone Central, riding a two-game win streak from last week, took the show on the road as they visited the Summerland Bobcats (7-7). The Bobcats got the first points of the game but that was the last positive thing you could say for the Bobcats in this one as the Cardinals took control from there taking a 14-6 lead into the second and then dominating the second quarter to amass a 40-10 halftime lead.

The Boone Central Cardinals traveled to the Norfolk YMCA on Saturday, Jan. 24 for the 2026 Mid-States Conference tournament.

A number of Lady Cardinal wrestlers traveled to Ord on Friday, Jan. 16 to compete in a girls invitational at the home of the Chanticleers.

Coming off their big win over Wayne last week, the Cardinals may have overlooked their D2 foe GACC (5-7) last Thursday. But this was an opponent whose record did not reflect their best work. They had also recently toppled Wayne and Ponca in recent weeks.
