Hot competition brings out best at Cards Invite

Having a home track and field meet is one thing. But, having a home track meet with fantastic competition and wonderful weather conditions is definitely another! After a scorcher of a day on Monday, Tuesday’s cooler temps made competition at the Boone Central Invitational a much more enjoyable day! For Boone Central, the day was highlighted with a good 3rd place finish by the girls and an impressive 31 season best! The boys were not far behind with 25, but the tough competition knocked them back to 6th in the team standings.
Always an incredible competitor, Kaden Miller proved it again with his impressive finish in the 400 meters at the Boone Central Invitational.

Golf team on the course...

The Boone Central boys’ golf team has competed in a number of events since the beginning of the year. Most recently they hosted the Boone Central Invitational on April 18, and a quad at home before that, and Ord to start the season. They will travel to Scotus and Columbus Lakeview over the next week, and host a triangular at home on May 4. Photos courtesy Rose Buhlmann.

Four compete at AAU Midwest event in Iowa

Four Boone Central wrestlers went on the road to theAAU Midwest High School National Duals tournament in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday and Saturday, April 3-4. “Four of our wrestlers had success at National team duals,” said Coach Josh Majerus, “Nebraska Division one won the National Title.

Cardinals pick up accolades at Wayne Invite

The Wayne Blue Devil Invitational Track and Field Meet is always a great show! It combines, for the first time outdoors, several of the better teams in Class B, including Wayne, Scotus, Pierce, and of course, Boone Central.
With her eyes on the finish line, Sophie Lyon, competes in the 100m High Hurdles at the Wayne Invitational. She finished in 3rd.

Chilly day doesn’t stop heated competition

When you’re out for a spring sport in Nebraska, you always need to be prepared! With weather changing every hour, track and field athletes must pack everything from sunscreen, sunglasses, and t-shirts to stocking caps, gloves, and winter coats to be ready to take on both their competitors and the weather. The breezy, sunny, yet chilly weather on the last day of March at Boone Central’s Mansfield Invitational was a challenge for the young Cardinals, but the girls’ and boys’ teams walked away with eight impressive wins and a handful of impressive marks.

Cardinals close year filled with adversity

While this season may not have been the season any of the members of the Boone Central Cardinals wanted. They persevered through adversity at every turn. Finding ways to hang with tough teams and fighting to the end even in games where victory was out of reach.

Cardinals fall in Sub-Districts

The Boone Central Cardinals ended their season in the Class C1-4 Subdistrict in Winnebago on Feb 23rd. The Cardinals came into the subdistrict as the #4 seed and drew a contest with #5 seed Arlington (9-15) in the first round.
