Six former pastors on hand for Immanuel Zion 150th

Six former pastors and more than 200 parishioners, past and present, flooded every space of Immanuel Zion (IZ) Lutheran Church Sunday, August 18, for a celebration of the church’s 150 years The day began with a service of Holy Communion led by Bishop Scott Johnson, Nebraska Synod, Evangelical Luther Church of America (ELCA). He was assisted by IZ’s current Pastor Elizabeth Goehring together with several former pastors. Those in attendance were Pastors Michael Kern, Becky Beckmann, Brian Bergum, Annette Minderman, Larry Spomer and Nolan Saarem.

Book Vending machine ribbon cutting held at Boone Central

Boone Central Elementary held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Book Vending Machine during the Back-to-School open house on Wednesday, August 15th. Albion Education Foundation grant funds helped purchase the Book Vending Machine with Boone Central Elementary PTO funding the books to stock it for the year.

Two join behavioral health department at Health Center

Boone County Health Center (BCHC has announced the addition of two new mental health practitioners to the facility’s team: Brittany Bertram, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, and Trevor Hyatt, LMHP, MA/BC. “Their arrival marks a significant enhancement to our behavioral health services, offering comprehensive care to our community,” said Aprill Murphy, BCHC Public Relations.

Crouch is new Livestock Systems Educator for area

Josie Crouch, a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is the new Livestock Systems Extension Educator for a seven-county region that includes Boone County. A native of Rolla, Missouri, she will be based at the Nance County Extension office in Fullerton.
