Blood drives will be held: • Tuesday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Red Cross coordinators JoAnn Mattner and Kathy Koch stated there was a great response to the February blood drive which was dedicated to the memory of longtime Petersburg supporter Larry Temme. Fifty-two units of blood were collected, possibly saving 156 lives.

KEARNEY – The transition from high school to college was a “really big change” for Karlie Wies. Away from her family for the first time, the University of Nebraska at Kearney freshman was a little overwhelmed by this new environment and the prospect of “figuring everything out on your own.” Then she met Julie Everett.

Boone Central speech team captured runner-up honors in a 19-team field at the Wayne High/ Wayne State Classic Tournament last Saturday, Feb. 3.

Boone County Development Agency (BCDA) invited representatives from each of the county’s communities to attend a collaborative “mixer” event on Jan. 24.
