That’s about the only use some of us have for peace, don’t expect opportunity to come to you with a letter of introduction; It had been an open winter by the second week; Two-quart pudding pans, 10 cents each, spoons, five cents, white enamel pails, 60 cents, two-quart coffee pots, 15 cents at the Variety Store; The central office would close at 9:30 p.m. until March; KVAM Mercantile had 10 cents off all shoes; The entire opium crop of Turkey was 17,000 cases at 150 pounds net each case; The Germans were successful at generating electricity with windmills; George Stewart visited Virginia and reported land was selling for $100 to $150 an acre, close to Roanoke $200 to $800 per acre; Jan. 26 was observed as Child Labor Law Day in Nebraska.

Dan McKeon gets GOP endorsement in District 41

Dan McKeon of Amherst filed recently as the third candidate for the District 41 seat in the Nebraska Legislature. McKeon is an agronomy consultant and entrepreneur, and a former member of the Nebraska Army National Guard.

Stealth Broadband using grant funds to improve county’s internet access

Midstates Data Transport, LLC, doing business as Stealth Broadband, has been awarded over $785,000 through a state funding program to improve high speed internet access in portions of Boone County. Funds were awarded through the Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program (NBBP), and will enable Stealth Broadband to expand its fiber optic cable network into underserved areas of Boone County.
